This position required a mastery of English grammar and various genre structures, extensive knowledge of MLA, APA, and AP styles of citation, and the ability to modify technical material for people of widely ranging abilities.
As the author of the Management Case Study, “Dynamic Marketing, Inc.: A Study of Change,” Genevieve conducted extensive research on one firm’s unprecedented system of team-based management and performance-linked pay. Dominican University recognized her work with an Honors Degree with Distinction.
Genevieve lived and worked in New York City for one and a half years as a Sales Representative and then Market Manager for the Kellogg Company. In this position she called on major foodservice operations to drive sales at New York’s largest foodservice distributors. She created print and email point-of-sale marketing materials, made recommendations to increase sales, and conducted meetings to facilitate communication between the sales force and corporate management.
For nearly five years, Genevieve worked for Michael C. Whelan, Attorney at Law, a tax law firm in Des Plaines, IL. She began with administrative duties before being promoted to Office Manager, where she worked under deadline challenges to maintain organizational systems, streamline client/attorney contact, and increase delinquent Accounts Receivable collections.
Genevieve is licensed in all three levels of the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating, and sold her own creations as a Custom Cake Designer for two years. Her passion for cooking continues to influence her career in the form of her food blog, “The Alchemist”. Genevieve incorporates short essays, humorous storytelling, technical instruction, food photography, and creative web-formatting in this blog to reach a constantly-growing group of readers.
